Counselling Services in Calgary

Sometimes, on the pathway of life, you may encounter challenges or obstacles that interfere with your enjoyment of the journey. At times like this, it can be very helpful to work with a psychologist – a travel companion – who can help you discover new ways of looking at things, new skills to manage situations and new resources that can add to the richness of your experience.

Individual or couple therapy can be a gift you give yourself. I would welcome your call if you would like to speak with me about how I might be able to help.

Dr. Lynn Sloane

Lynn Sloane has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan. She has worked in the mental health field since 1982, and as a psychologist in private practice in Calgary since 1987.

In individual and couples therapy with women and men, Lynn combines personal authenticity, clinical skills, and sensitivity to the impact of socialization on psychological well-being. Lynn has a strong understanding of how diversity from the mainstream can affect people's lives and the problems they bring to psychotherapy. She works from the perspective that psychotherapy is collaborative, with therapist and clients working together as a team to make positive changes towards the clients' goals.

Lynn offers a general practice in psychotherapy, working effectively with relationship concerns; depression; anxiety and stress; self-esteem; effective communication skills; life transitions; long-term effects of childhood abuse; and lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender issues, including concerns in same-sex relationships.
